Next Generation Dynamics Processing Tool
How can you choose the best compressor setting if you are always limited to compressing everything above a certain level? How can you quickly determine the best compressor setting if you can't tell how it will affect your output levels? How can you avoid squashing your audio if there is no real way to tell the effect of your compression?
The best compression doesn’t always involve treating all levels equally - with the same ratio, attack, and release. By using D1’s zone and its zone gain control, you determine the ideal compression setting without being forced to conform to the restrictions found on other compressors. By visually displaying the relationship between the input and the output, D1 gives you the information you need to make intelligent choices about how to affect the dynamics of your audio.
D1 is the new answer to compression. Before long you'll be wondering how you got along without it.
Get In The Zone
Don't get confused - this is not multi-band compression. D1 is an entirely different beast. Why always apply the same compression to all audio levels? Compress the louder levels with a quick attack; expand the lower levels with a slow release and leave the mid level sounds alone. Try it with a traditional compressor - you won't get far. D1 lets you break your audio levels up into a "zone" so you can control them exactly how you want. No one size fits all compression here.
What Are You Looking At?
Thought you knew compression? Think again. D1 lets you visualize compression in a way you've never seen before (no transfer curves here). Just like a graphic equalizer provides valuable information for your equalization efforts, so does D1 provide critical info for your compression efforts. No more shooting in the dark - just the info you need for total control.
Features, Features, Everywhere
D1's compression meters indicate how your attack and release are affecting the compression. Cloud meters show you where your audio levels are concentrated. There's even a built-in "Auto-Limiter" for those times when you want to ensure your audio doesn't go in the red. Automatic gain compensation, look-ahead, and more. A comprehensive set of meters lets you adjust D1 settings to perfectly match the specific characteristics of your audio signals.
