D1 Next Generation of Dynamics Processing and Level Control
RNDigital has released it's latest plug-in D1
D1 is a graphic dynamics processor based on RNDigital Dynam-izer Zone Audio Level technology. D1 was developed in order to make RNDigital's revolutionary dynamics control technology more intuitive. The graphic elements of the GUI now represent the signal flow from left to right.
"We came to realize that many users find it difficult
to grasp the concept and therefore the benefits that are provided by Dynam-izer." says Reinhold Probst CEO and owner of RNDigital "An average demo session with a "new" user takes about one hour until all the possibilities and options available with Dynam-izer (soon to be renamed D4) can be explored. I have witnessed many times that the customers attention span had faded long before I could even get to the really cool possibilities available. While the cause for this may very well be that I am not very good at explaining things, I came to the conclusion that Dynam-izer maybe too advanced to serve as an introduction. If I was to introduce somebody to the concept of flying for example, I wouldn't put them in a jet fighter or an airliner either. I start off with a relatively simple trainer like a Cessna 172 or so.
In those terms the D1 would be the Cessna of Zone based Dynamic Processing while the Dynam-izer would be more the highly advanced tactical fighter."
D1 is however not a light version of Dynam-izer. D1 has all the functions required to perform most day to day dynamics control tasks. If further options are needed, presets saved by D1 can be importet into Dynam-izer.
We have also introduced a new concept called Zone Gain Control. This controls what happens with audio levels "outside" of the level zone defined by D1, in many cases eliminating the need for makeup gain and/or gating.

RNDigital discontinues retail boxes
RNDigital plug-ins will be available for electronic download only. Retail box versions will no longer be available.
From the beginning RNDigital was offering retail boxes as an alternate to electronic download. After more than two years of experience we had to realize that more than 90% of our customers opt to not get a retail box but to use electronic download only.
This simple fact made the cost of producing retail boxes prohibitively expensive. It also made it impossible to keep retail versions current.
RNDigital products will however still be available through our dealer network. Dealers have "active" Serial numbers that will be given to the customer upon sale of the product. The customer can use this number to authorize the new plug-in at RNDigital's Web site.
